For those guests who have difficulty getting in and out of the bath, the hotel has several aids that may be of benefit. Further details are available from our Reception team.

We have a 24 Hour Porter service available to assist guests with luggage. We are happy to accept guide dogs.

We make every effort to make the whole of the Green Lawns Hotel website as accessible to as many visitors as possible, this site complies with most of the recommendations laid down by the recent Disability Discrimination Act (2002) - work in progress will ensure the hotel passes the W3C priority 1, 2 and 3.

We continually review our facilities and will be investing in the creation of improved access where possible. For more information about this, or about any other aspect of our accessibility policy, please call 01326 312734 or email info@greenlawnshotel.com

GREEN TOURISM BUSINESS

We work hard to limit our impact on the environment. So much so, that we've won a Green Tourism Business Scheme silver award.

We actively support local attractions and local produce to reduce pollution and food miles; we encourage you to experiment with leaving the car behind sometimes; we also try to and make sure you enjoy and understand the places you visit, and understand something of the local culture, too.

We don't believe there's any contradiction at all between your having a fantastic holiday and our taking our responsibility to the environment seriously. Lots of people all doing very small good things can have an enormous impact.

Think green and love your planet!

MEET THE TEAM

The Managing Director - Bob Collings

Having owned the Green Lawns for nearly 40 years, Bob is well known and respected throughout the world of Cornish Hospitality and in his spare time he is a keen Yachtsman and one time Championship Angler. What is your greatest catch? “A 220lb Marlin off the coast of Jamaica, but these days I prefer line fishing for Mackerel and Whiting from Falmouth Harbour... usually when I should be working, just don’t tell the GM!”

The General Manager – Neil Slade

Neil is well known throughout the West Country as an enthusiastic Hotelier, passionate about his craft and ever so keen to ensure that visitors receive great service. What do you enjoy most about your job? “The theatre of Hotel life, I love the people and enjoy spending time chatting about life in Falmouth and sharing Hotel stories. No two days are ever the same and it’s the people that make this job fun”. Where will you find Neil? “In the thick of it, but occasionally enjoying a cool glass of sauvignon (a gentleman’s measure that is) and a good old chin wag with our guests”... but don’t tell the MD!

The Restaurant Manager – Tony Lock

Tony is a legend in the Restaurant world having been Restaurant Manager at the Green Lawns for 21years. His command of the Restaurant and disciplined management of the Banqueting Suite is a performance in itself.  What is the funniest thing you have heard in the restaurant? “A guest asked a new waiter”, ‘Is this milk fresh?' He said, 'Madam, three hours ago it was grass!’ ... ‘It’s a good job the GM didn’t hear that!’

The Head Chef – Gary Hunking

Having cooked at the Green Lawns for over 20 years Gary’s personable style is well received by visitors who will find him popping in and out of the Restaurant from time to time to see how diners are enjoying their meal. What’s your favourite meal? “Fillet of Cornish Cod with Linguine and chorizo, it’s a modern twist on the classic surf and turf” and your favourite quote? “I always arrive late to work, but I make up for it by leaving early”... but don’t tell the GM!

The Front of House Manager – Rachel Wilshaw

Rachel has worked in a variety of departments and has been with the hotel for several years. She now focuses on the Reception and Housekeeping teams. What's your top Housekeeping tip? "I like to try and see things from the guest point of view... I have been found lying in the bath and occasionally in bed to... it helps when checking that the taps are clean and that there is no cobwebs on the ceiling... honestly! Don't tell the GM!

The Sales and Marketing Manager – Karen George

Karen is relatively new to the team having been with the Green Lawns for 3 years. She looks after the Sales and Marketing Activity and also oversees our Health and Safety responsibilities, ensuring that guests and staff are safe at the Hotel. What’s the best bit about your job?  “Visiting other hotels to check out the competition and taste the occasional glass of cider... but don’t tell the GM!”

The Bar Manager – Lorna West-Letford

'Cocktail Queen' of the Greenlawns, Lorna has a can do approach and prides herself on her ability to create the cheekiest of cool cocktails! "Why not try the Greenlawns-tini - it's a particular favourite of the GM".

The Financial Controller – Angie Parker

Angie has been in control of the Green Lawns purse for fourteen years. She is responsible for Accounts and supports the General Manager with Human Resource Management. What do Financial Controllers do to let their hair down? “I don’t get chance to let my hair down, my 11 year old Tom keeps me on my toes, but I must confess to enjoying a spot of shopping with the company credit card... but don’t tell the MD!”
